Dr. Baker has been part of the American Studies Program leadership since 2008 and has served as the program director since 2009. Prior to this, he worked and researched in South Africa, Ukraine, and Michigan. He earned a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Notre Dame, specializing in comparative politics and international relations. Peter and his wife, Lisa-Jo, are both ASP alumni and live in Hanover, Maryland with their three children. Peter supervises the ASP staff, the overall academic and extracurricular programming, and leads the Public Policy study track.



Zach Mills, Residence Director

Zach joined the ASP team in 2015. Before moving to DC, he worked for the Department of Residential Life at Louisiana State University where he also earned a master’s degree in Higher Education and Administration. Zach is in charge of student life at ASP; he also assists with teaching and serves as an Internship Faculty Monitor. In addition, he is the facilities manager for the CCCU, overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of its two DC properties. Zach, his wife Kate, and their young daughter Maeve live onsite at the Dellenback Center and enjoy being active participants in the Dellenback community.



Hannah Wasco, Program Administrator & Internship Coordinator

B.A. Political Science and History, Trinity Christian College

Hannah worked as an admissions coordinator for BestSemester’s international programs before transitioning to the ASP team in 2016. She attended the American Studies Program in 2014 while a student at Trinity Christian College. As Program Administrator & Internship Coordinator, Hannah advises students and answers any questions they may have about the program; she especially enjoys doing this in person when she visits campuses. After their acceptance, she then assists the students with their internship searches. Hannah lives in Georgetown where you can often find her paddling on the Potomac River.
