Record Number Attend Oxford Summer Programme

OXFORD, England—Scholars dream of studying at Oxford and this summer a record number of students from Christian colleges will make that dream a reality.

The Oxford Summer Programme (OSP) is a programme of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities and Wycliffe Hall. OSP has provided this unique learning opportunity since 1995 but the anticipated 47 students this summer will be a record for attendance.

“The increase in students enrolled is about choice.  This year, students have the option of earning six credits in a four-week programme as opposed to the previous three-week, five-credit programme,” said Duffy Gibb, Tutor for Affiliate Students and Associate Director for the Oxford Summer Programme.  “This creates a stronger programme and encourages more students to enroll.”

The programme is designed to enable students to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the relationship between Christianity and culture and to do specialized work under Oxford academics. Nearly 15 faculty and staff will contribute to the learning experience of OSP students.

OSP students come from a variety of colleges as they represent 32 different campuses within the Council for Christian College & Universities. They also must prove their academic strength by meeting specific admissions criteria as evidenced by an average college GPA of 3.63.

This academic dream experience will take place from June 23-July 20. Applications for summer 2007 will be available in September, 2006. To find out more about Oxford Summer Programme and the student programs of the CCCU visit www.Bestsemester.com.
