ASP Announces 30th Anniversary Celebration

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Studies Program announced plans for a 30th Anniversary Celebration.  The program, founded in 1976, is the oldest of the twelve BestSemester off-campus study programs managed by the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities.  To commemorate the milestone anniversary, current American Studies Program faculty and staff will host a weekend-long reunion July 7-9, 2006 in Washington, D.C. for their 2400-plus alumni.

The theme of the weekend is “Shalom Happens:  Hope in a Broken World.”  Events include a dessert reception at the U.S. Senate, semester class reunions, and forums featuring panelists on education, human rights, and “calling and career.”  The weekend will end with a banquet featuring memories and highlights from ASP founder John Bernbaum and current Director Jerry Herbert and a Sunday morning worship service with Myron Augsberger.

To register online to attend this weekend for a cost of $70, please go to www.bestsemester.com/asp30th.  If you have questions about this event, please contact Michelle Griffith.
