Anthony B. Chamberlain, Director
LASP Faculty and Assistants
Additional Latin and North American personnel assist in seminar courses, concentrations, language instruction, the administration of host families, travel and practicum/internship experiences.
Trevor Poag, Assistant Director
Trevor’s involvement at LASP began in 1995 when he was a student in the program. Trevor served the 1996 – 1997 academic year as the LASP Program Intern. In 1998, he joined the LASP staff as Program Associate. Trevor has been serving as LASP Assistant Director since 2002. Trevor is a doctoral candidate at Lehigh University, where he is seeking the degree of Doctor of Education in International Educational Leadership. He holds an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Framingham State University and a Bachelor of Social Work from Roberts Wesleyan College.
Javier Arguedas Ruano, Internship Director
Javier is a regionally recognized expert in political science, conflict transformation, and law. Javier holds an M.S. in Political Science from the University of Costa Rica, a Professional Licensure in Law from the Autonomous University of Central America, and a National Certificate as a Legal Mediator. Prior to his work with LASP, Javier served as the Secretary General for the Penal Branch of Costa Rica’s Supreme Court and as a professor at several local universities.
Laura Barnard, Student Life Director
Laura has been a member of LASP’s faculty since 2004. She holds a Master of Education in International Education from Framingham State University. Laura completed her dual B.A. degree in International Studies and Spanish at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. Laura’s academic interests include gender studies and Latin American literature.
Jessica Sánchez, Administrative Coordinator
Jessica has served as LASP Administrative Coordinator since 1999. Her many responsibilities at LASP include host family selection and accounting. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from the Universidad Latina, and she is completing a second Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Jessica is an active leader in her church, where she serves as a director of youth programs.
