Summary Description

The Contemporary Music Center provides you with the opportunity to live and work in the refining context of community while seeking to understand how God will have them integrate music, faith and business. The CMC offers three tracks: the Artist, Business and Technical Tracks. The Artist Track is tailored to students considering careers as vocalists, musicians, songwriters, recording artists, performers and producers. The Business Track is designed for arts management, marketing, communications and related majors interested in possible careers as artist managers, agents, music publishers, tour managers, concert promoters and entertainment industry entrepreneurs. The Technical Track prepares you for a career in live sound, concert lighting and studio recording.  Within each of the tracks you will receive instruction, experience and a uniquely Christ-centered perspective on creativity and the marketplace, while working together to create and market a recording of original music. Each track includes coursework, labs, directed study and a practicum. You will earn 16 semester hours of credit.

"To catch a glimpse of what it's like to be a full-time artist at CMC and to have nothing else in the world to do but create and do what I love is just unspeakably euphoric. Being in a community of artists is an experience I wouldn't trade for anything else in the world, and to do that in Music City, USA is absolutely priceless."
