Student Life

Things to do

During the term you'll enjoy informal recreation and social outings. There are times for worship and special events organized by your colleagues for fun, relaxation, service and spiritual growth.

You can also take advantage of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Smithsonian museums, historic Georgetown and more.

Housing

At ASP, you live eight blocks from the U.S. Capitol and Supreme Court in a fully-furnished apartment for four to six students, complete with a well-equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, and free local telephone and voicemail service. Your apartment is in the Council's Dellenback Center, which houses a business center, two lounges, a workout room, and a spacious rooftop deck with a panoramic view of Capitol Hill.  The student lounge is equipped with a hi-definition, flat screen TV with DVR and dvd system.

Transportation

Metro train and bus fares are inexpensive and taxi rates are moderate. The program's facilities are located in the heart of Capitol Hill with convenient access to Metro bus stops and Metro train lines and to both Amtrak and MARC.  Although bringing a car is discouraged, Zipcar (a car-sharing business throughout the region) is available to those students who are interested.
