Mission & Objectives

Our Passion is to train those who have an abiding desire to actively engage people of the world through responsible behavior at home. This semester is not meant to cajole students into a life of expatriatism, though for some we know this will be the case; rather, we seek to challenge students to grapple with the implications of what it means to put down deep local roots which have global consequences socially, environmentally and spiritually.

OUR MISSION

  • To prepare students to live the Christian life in a religiously and culturally pluralistic world.
  • To consider the meaning of being salt and light in the culture-shaping arena of the professional performing artist.
  • To encourage students to think through their role as kingdom builders in this world.
  • To challenge students to grapple with issues of justice for marginalized people.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  • To create in students an awareness of and an appreciation for the variety of peoples and cultures in Australia, New Zealand.
  • To help students understand the historical interweaving of religion, culture, the arts, politics and economics in this region of the world.
  • To educate students concerning the contemporary political, economic, religious, social and cultural structure of this country.
  • To provide students with an opportunity for experiential learning through social interaction and service projects with the diverse population of Sydney.
  • To give students a vision for future involvement in Australia, New Zealand.
